Harmooni’s à la carte summer menu can be enjoyed on the terrace and in the Cellar Restaurant. It offers summer flavours made with locally sourced ingredients prepared by our chefs.

The terrace shares opening hours with the restaurant, weather permitting. In summer, you can also enjoy lovely Garden Brunches on the terrace. Information is provided separately on the events page.

The summer menu for 2021 emphasizes wild herbs and organic plants gathered locally from the nature of Central Finland. Summer’s wine and drinks list features fantastic bubbly drinks and German wines.

Harmooni also offers the option to book a private terrace - would you like to hold a garden barbecue party for your group, or find a venue for your company’s summer event?

Ask us for a quote for your event. Our own courtyard offers the opportunity to organize events in winter, too.
Of Harmooni’s own music events, Puutarhajazz has already become somewhat of a tradition.

This year, it will be organized for the 8th time. A summer evening of nostalgic jazz & swing music. Artists and schedules will be announced on our event page, where you can buy tickets in advance.

Stories from organ factory's courtyard

Harmoonitehdas’ courtyard is surrounded by factory workers’ houses. Community life was tight-knit and safe; factory owner Halonen was a good landlord.

An apple tree Antti Halonen gave to his brother, Aapeli, grows in the factory's courtyard. He brought the apple tree from a garden in his home municipality of Lapinlahti. In addition to the apple tree, lilacs, roses, and maple also grew in the courtyard, as they do today.

  • Organ transport boxes

    Finished organs were packed in wooden transport boxes lined with sawdust for padding. The empty transport boxes awaiting finished reed organs in the factory’s courtyard attracted overnight guests who didn’t have the money or opportunity to stay at an inn. The story goes that the boxes were also great hiding places for anyone who needed them.

  • Courtyard fence

    The courtyard was home to workers’ housing and wooden storehouses, and was surrounded by a high fence. The high fence complied with the city code and the buildings and fence protected the courtyard. For the factory workers’ children, the fence was like a fun highway they could run along to neighbouring plots.
